Limerick Students Become Animators at Fresh Film Workshops!

We are so delighted to have collaborated with the students of Coláiste Mhichíl and the talented artists from Fresh Film in Limerick!

As part of the Fresh Films Festival, students took part in a two-part workshop in stop motion animation.

In the first half, students looked at story, character and plot. Together they ideated and collaborated with Fighting Words staff to help create the opening scene to their script. Then, they pitched their ideas to the class.

In the second half, students were introduced to paper puppetry and stop motion. They worked closely with the artists from Fresh Film to bring these scripts to life! Shape, colour and lighting all had to be considered to help ensure their ideas translate onto the screen!

The result of their hard work and amazing ideas? Three brand new stop motion short films!
