Summer 2023 - An Amazing Season of Creativity at Fighting Words

In Dublin, Wicklow, Monaghan and Limerick, children and young people created new stories, plays, songs, comics and films

Every year since 2009, Fighting Words has thrown open its doors to children and teens to offer free summer camps in a variety of writing genres. It was no different this year, except for the number of locations!

In 2023, we offered free programmes in Dublin - both at our centre in Russell Street and the Ukrainian Centre in Rathmines, in Wicklow (both Blessington and Greystones), in Limerick and in Monaghan. We created through English and through Irish and it was nonstop inspiration and fun along the way!

All this was possible with the support of our brilliant volunteer writing mentors, facilitators and guest speakers, who provided support and guidance along the way.
