Magic Madness: The Food Escapes

Fighting Words Limerick Fantasy Camp, 10th July 2025

Once upon a time, there was a robot city called Metro that was shiny and clean all around. And then, Gustavo the Robot Chef moved into town and poisoned the whole city by making potions with a huge amount of batteries that exploded and turned the whole town dirty and dark.

Suddenly, one day when he was making a potion, he put in the wrong ingredient and it spilled over onto his lunch of sausages, waffles and pancakes.

He didn’t notice that the potion was bubbling over, but realised he was missing his special ingredients: frog, pufferfish and screws. He quickly left his test kitchen, and went to RobotRange, the supermarket, to pick them up, but as he was leaving, the potion made the food come alive…

When the food came alive, they called themselves Bob the Waffle, Steve the Sausage and Milly the Pancake.

“We’re alive!! What should we do now?!” Bob the Waffle said.

“Let’s run away before he comes back and eats us!” Steve the Sausage said.

“Oh my god we can talk!!” Milly said in a surprised voice.

“C’mon, we have to get out of here!” Steve said nervously.

“But how are we going to get out of here?” Bob said, looking around confused.

“Look, there’s an open window up there!” exclaimed Milly.

Bob reaches up towards the window, and waffle sauce sprays out of his hand.

“What the heck is that stuff?!” shouted Steve and Milly.

Bob accidentally sprayed some in Steve’s face, and Steve said “Ewwwww it’s sticky!”

Bob realised that he can make the waffle sauce spray out his hands super fast so that he can propel himself and fly.

“Quick! Somebody grab onto my feet!” Bob yelled.

So Steve grabbed on to Bob’s feet and then Milly grabbed onto Steve’s feet as Bob lifted off the ground.

“Ahhh I’m freaking out here!” Steve said in a scared voice.

“Weeeeeeeeeee!” Milly said excitedly.

Just then as they were flying out the window, Gustavo burst through the door, ran over and reached out to grab Milly’s feet…
