Xavier, Lumi, the Octopus & the Tiger

Fighting Words Limerick, St Paul's National School, Dooradoyle Limerick, 5th Class, 13th October 2026

It was 2100 in Hawaii on a rainy day. Xavier was in a boat with his best friend Lumi when a big wave came and flipped the boat over.

Xavier started to sink down to the bottom of the sea where he found a blue, shiny notebook. It was covered in dirt and seaweed, but a green glow coming from it caught his eye. Just then, he was grabbed by a Diving Expert named Jerry who tried to bring him up to the surface, but not before Xavier grabbed the notebook.

When they got to the surface, Jerry notices the notebook and tries to grab it out of Xavier’s hands. Xavier swims away.

“Come back! Give me that notebook!”, shouts Jerry.

Suddenly, an octopus appeared and threw a grenade into the water, giving Xavier and the octopus a chance to escape.

From above, they could hear Lumi shouting, “Swim faster!”. She was riding on a flying tiger.

Xavier and the octopus are able to make it to a deserted island, where Lumi and the tiger meet them. In the distance, a pirate ship appears. With the notebook, Xavier writes “HELP US”, hoping the pirate ship would see it.

The words “HELP US” suddenly project from the notebook into the sky, where a passing UFO spots it.

One alien says to the other, “Let’s turn these humans into aliens because we’re short a few workers.”

Xavier, Lumi, the octopus, and the tiger are scared of the aliens and run into a dark cave, which Xavier is terrified of.

However, the UFO sucks them up and takes them to their planet, where...
