The Flying Capybara

Fighting Words Waterford, St Angela's 2nd Class, 15th October 2026

"Ella and Princess were playing when they saw something moving in the sand. It was a scary ghost! But the ghost only wanted to play with them.

There was also a dog and a hamster who wanted to play with them.

Princess and Ella were terrified of the ghost because it was Princess's BIGGEST fear.

She was scared of the way the ghost flew around. The ghost let out a scream, “woooooWOOOOOwaaaaaaaaa.” The Capybara girls screamed and yelled, “GO AWAY, GHOST! WHO ARE YOU?” The ghost said, “I’m Liz the ghost! What is your name?” Rather than responding, they splashed sand at Liz; this made Liz very sad.

She only wanted to play with the capybaras; Liz didn’t understand why the girls wouldn’t play with her! After running away, Princess looked over her capybara shoulder.

“Maybe we should go and play with her”, Ella said. But the ghost was only feigning being sad and had a plan to scare the capybara girls!"
