It was October 1996 in London, England.

The sun was shining in a yellowy sky, as fireworks were set off.

Detective Chief Alan leaves his office and goes to his car to eat a donut.

He’s thinking about how much he hates his job and how dumb it is that he’s eating a donut because American cops do that and he knows he’s a British detective like Sherlock Holmes.

Then his phone rings and it’s his best friend Leo the Farmer.

“Hey Alan. D’you want to go get pizza at the arcade?”

“Yeah sure. I’ll see you there at 7pm.”

But just then, he gets a call on the radio sending him to crime scene of a suspected murder.

Chief Alan rushes to the murder scene and when he gets there he enters the two-storey house and finds the body of a thirty-something year old man, lying face up with his vacant eyes open.

He starts to look for clues. It’s obvious that the man was clubbed to death, with a severe injury to the head and all over his body. But Alan’s being watched but he doesn’t see it.

It turns out that the murderer, Dave the Goth, is still in the room, hiding in the wardrobe and watching Alan. Dave happens to be the boyfriend of Alan’s ex-girlfriend, Charlie.

Alan spots a painting on the wall. It’s a painting of where he used to live in Birmingham.

Dave reveals himself and Alan immediately recognises him. Alan confronts Dave.

“Dave, did you do this?”

Dave, without remorse, replies, “Yes.”

Alan is wondering, “why” and Dave snaps back,

“I really had to. He was going to attack me because he hates Goths or anyone who looks different from the norm.”

Sirens wailed outside. The police had arrived because Leo the farmer rang them when Chief Alan hadn’t shown up at the Arcade.

“Alan,” said Dave the Goth, “you got to help me get off the hook. Let’s frame Charlie, you always said she was very entitled.”

Chief Alan now has to quickly decide. Does he get revenge on his ex or does he do the right thing?...
