About this publication: The Next Chapter is a collaboration between Fighting Words and the Gate Theatre and the following organisations: SAOL community project, the WAS group at Barnardos, Ballyogan, Coolmine House, Amiens Street, Dubli, the Daughters of Charity Writing Group, Exchange House Ireland, the Foundations Project, the Shaping Futures project at the Irish National, Organisation of the Unemployed (INOU), RADE support group, Dublin 8 and Jane’s Place, Merchants Quay Ireland.

Through a series of playwriting workshops, participants had the opportunity to develop their storytelling skills, culminating in a showcase in the Gate Theatre in September 2025 where professional actors performed the participants’ work, building their confidence in creative expression.
