Story Slam in Dublin: Bringing Young People Together to Share Creative Work!
Second open mic event was even bigger and better!
Young people came together at the Fighting Words centre in Dublin on Saturday, 14 December for our second Story Slam open mic event.
Building on the success of our first Story Slam in September, Write Quest members from Fighting Words NI in Belfast joined the Write Quest Dublin members to perform the pieces they have written with the project mentor team over the past few months. The two groups were delighted to meet again after their day in Belfast in November and catch up over pizza before kicking off the readings.
In addition to Write Quest members, some of the other young writers from the first Story Slam returned to perform new work.

There were family, friends and Fighting Words volunteers in the audience to cheer on the young writers. The day was full of excitement, creativity and a healthy dose of festive cheer.
The performances were recorded for a future episode of The Fighting Words Podcast - available across all podcast platforms in 2025.
