A Great Night for Fighting Words at Event Celebrating Volunteer Heroes!

Write Club Members Read Their Work at Event Honouring Volunteer Heroes at Museum of Literature Ireland!
Back in October, The Wheel asked us to nominate two young writers to read their work at a special event honouring volunteer heroes and marking the end of CEO Deirdre Garvey’s 22 years as head of Ireland’s association of community and voluntary organisations at Museum of Literature Ireland on St. Stephen's Green in Dublin.

We were delighted that Write Club members and Young Playwrights Róis Faughnan and Laoise Molumby had the opportunity their incredible work with an audience of over 100 people in this beautiful venue, lavishly decorated for the holidays on a cold December night.
Laoise and Róis were called back to the podium by event host Noeline Blackwell of Dublin Rape Crisis Centre for a huge round of applause!

The Wheel also invited us to recognise one of our volunteer mentors as a Volunteer Hero, so we were delighted when longtime volunteer writing mentor Colm Hearne accepted the Hero award in recognition of his contribution to helping young writers to tell their stories.

Operations Manager Sara Bennett and Programmes Coordinator Mark Davidson were on hand to celebrate with Colm, Róis and Laoise. A brilliant night for the write to right Dublin!
