Fighting Words - Kicking Off Workshops in Limerick at the International Rugby Experience!

Secondary school Irish rugby experience

The Fighting Words Limerick team has had a fantastic time since September working with secondary schools in Limerick at the new International Rugby Experience as part of the Story Seeds project.

Led by Limerick Coordinator Clara Planelles, each class has thoroughly enjoyed their trip to this amazing new addition to the city. Students from Coláiste Nano Nagle, Ardscoil Mhuire, Corbally, Mungret Community College, Thomond Community College and St Clement's College created short plays in small groups and had a blast performing them in these drama-based sessions.

According to one student who did not have much experience of the game, "You actually changed our perspective of rugby (after the workshop). I don't think it's too bad and actually has really good values."

The Story Seeds project encourages students to consider their relationship to their home communities in each creative workshop and for these sessions, they also added the element of including the game of rugby, which is of course a huge part of life in Limerick.

More Workshops Coming Soon!

We are looking forward to further workshops in Limerick, including our next visit to the International Rugby Experience in January!

Many thanks to our brilliant partners at the International Rugby Experience and Limerick Libraries for their support for these sessions.
