Beyond the Stars - Call for Submissions to HarperCollins UK

A very special book will be published by HarperCollins UK later this year. Beyond the Stars is a collection of short stories for children by several great Irish authors andillustrators, and edited by Sarah Webb.  All profits will go to Fighting Words. 

Beyond the Stars will feature twelve tales of adventure, magic and wonder. The authors have contributed eleven stories and to complete the book HarperCollins is launching a search for the twelfth and final winter-themed tale, to be written by a child aged between 8 and 16.

The invitation to submit stories is open to children throughout Ireland and the UK, and closes at the end of June 2014. The final selection will be made by HarperCollins and illustrated by Irish Children’s Laureate, Niamh Sharkey. The writer of the selected story will have the chance to work with an editor and see their story published alongside the finest writers; their school will also win a selection of books for their school library.
