Joeys Jackpot

St Fiachras Senior School Beaumont 6th Class 13th June 2011
Joey the Chinchilla was at home at Chinchilla Chapel in Las Vegas.

He was watering his cactus wife Teresa and munching on some cheese.

Joey and his best friend Father O’Flaherty were planning a big night out at the casino. Joey had already changed into his tuxedo with the red bow tie.

Father O’Flaherty came into the room, turning a cartwheel. “I am so excited!” he said. “I don’t get out much. Are you ready to go?”

“Sí, Señor,” Joey replied.

They got onto Father O’Flaherty’s Vespa and sped into the city, on their way to Ceaser’s Palace.

They lost their first game of blackjack, but then they hit a winning streak.  What they didn’t know was that the dealer was Joey’s mother-in-law in disguise!  She wanted to keep an eye on both of them and make sure they didn’t get up to any mischief.

After a while, the casino manager came over to talk to them. “Would you like to play for the jackpot?” he asked.

“Sí, sí por favor,” Joey said.

The manager brought out a massive box.

His mother-in-law dealt the cards and Joey won again!

Joey opened the box and discovered that the prize was a baby chinchilla.

“¡Olè!” screamed Joey.
