This song was written by Fellows on the 2025-2025 Irish Fellows Programme at the Camden Court Hotel in Dublin on 5th June, 2026.

Verse One
A year ago I crossed the sea with dreams and hopes inside me,
To an island full of rivers and mountains – it’s the place to be
Leaders from across the world together in one place for one cause,
The Irish go through hardship they still say “I’m Grand!” and pause

Chorus One
Seagulls stealing snacks! Rain is always there,
Green like an emerald, sunshine is so rare,
I’m feeling lonely and I’m missing home
I have a bagful of dreams, I’ve got to soldier on.

Verse Two
The peace that I miss so much,
Thinking about home but appreciating being here,
Fighting the winds in Galway, beautiful scenery in the buses
I was playing melodious songs in All Hallows
on the piano until all stresses became narrow,
While I look at the view of all those majestic castles
I listen to the conversations with the accents on the buses

Chorus Two
Seagulls stealing snacks! Rain is always there,
Green like an emerald, sunshine is so rare,
I’m feeling lonely and I’m missing home
I have a bagful of dreams I’ve got to soldier on.

Bridge
It’s time so say goodbye Ireland now but not forever
The fellowship, the friendships and the pints
Irish love for humanity grows with the deepening global crisis
Being on the other side with another perspective
50 meanings to word craic, majestic St. Patrick’s Day
A place where everyone belongs – Slainte!

Chorus
Seagulls stealing snacks! Rain is always there,
Green like an emerald, sunshine is so rare,
I’m feeling lonely and I’m missing home
I have a bagful of dreams I’ve got to soldier on.
