Thunder the Racing Horse
St. Fergal's Boy's National School, Finglas 5th Class 26th October 2022
Once upon a time there was a horse named Thunder and he dreamed about being a famous race horse. He lived on a farm down the countryside with his owner, John Joe.
When John Joe was five, a car hit him and Thunder saved him. A few years later, Thunder suffered severe injuries due to a field rat.
He gained a special ability after being bit. He could talk.
“Can you teach me how to race?” Thunder said.
“Alright, but first we need to get you ready,” replied John Joe.
A couple of weeks after that, John Joe taught Thunder how to race and to jump over barrels. Thunder got better and better and John Joe encouraged him to go into a contest. So he did.
As he got to the beginners’ race, he met his rival, Lightning. When the race started, Lightning was faster than Thunder. Lightning won and Thunder came in second.
Next year, Thunder came to race against Lightning again...
