Get Out of Here!

Sunset

This brilliant new short play was written by students from the Creative Pathways course at the Institute of Art, Design & Technology in Dun Laoghaire on April 16th 2026. 

Characters

Kai, 40s, friendly, handsome, adventurous nature, helpful, nervous, talented and in a band with his friends.

Evanagh, late 30s, she is the singer in Kai’s band, emotional and in touch with her feelings, she has a brother, she wears cool clothes, 

Scene One

Scotland. 2026.

Kai

Aggggggghhhhhh!!!!

Evanagh

Owwwwwww!!! What was that?

Kai

He’s behind you!

Evanagh

No he’s not. That scared the living daylights out of me.

Kai

I’m scared too!

Evanagh

I’ve got shivers down my back.

Kai

I’m honestly the same but I’ll check first and then you follow behind me and stay close we don’t know what is happening.

Evanagh

And I’ll look after you too!

They both start to walk out of the bedroom door and down the stairs.

Kai

Don’t look back, keep looking at me.

Just then Evanagh sees a body on the ground and looking closely she notices vampire bite marks.

Evanagh

I hope theses vampires are friendly.

Kai

Let’s look at the body’s if the eyes are red that means that they are a new born vampire but if the eyes are golden honey they are a good vampire.

They both try to wake the vampire. He opens his eyes and when they notice they are red they run like mad.

Baby Spark

Ruff ruff goo goo ga ga!

Kai

AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Baby Spark

Baby Spark dun dun dun dun dun, Baby Spark dun dun dun dun dun, Baby Spark dun dun dun dun dun, Baby Spark.

Evanagh

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Are ya alright?

Kai

Be careful Evanagh this might be a trap!

Baby Spark

You haven’t met my Master his name is Count Everest.

Kai

I will be loyal to you!

Evanagh

Oh I think Kai must be working with the vampires.

Baby Spark

Old MacDonald had a farm E I E I O!

Kai

Grow up you and act your age and not your shoe size!

Evanagh

What are you singing like that for?

Baby Spark

To make everybody happy again. I would love to have gold honey eyes instead of red ones. The red eyes make me look scary but I’m really friendly.
