As part of the Fighting Words collaboration with the Maths Education team in DCU we were invited to support a maths stories project with St Philomena's School in Tullamore. Working with two sixth class groups and their teachers, we embarked on a creative writing project that resulted in the publication of Maths Madness in June 2023.  This superb collection of maths stories, written by the students, brings number, shape and other mathematical concepts to life as characters and conundrums that are developed and resolved in the most creative and imaginative ways.  The fun and excitement running through this collaboration with the children, the school staff, all at Fighting Words, and the DCU team suggest we will doing a lot more on maths stories in the future.
