My Secret World

It was as though a thin glass sheet had been laid upon the vast ocean

And as I breathed in the cold air it felt like all the tiny hairs in my nose had turned into icicles

but it was delightfully refreshing.

My stomach did a little dance as I took the soft cotton towel from my skin.

For a brief moment I let the water lap at my feet

Then I waded slowly into the ice cold sea

All of a sudden hundreds of emotions raced through my head

fear, anticipation, excitement and I felt the urge to leap in head first.

Under the water I was so alive

my head was so clear

I didn’t have a care in the world.
