Shreka the Worm’s Magical Peanut

Once upon a time there was a worm called Shreka the Worm.

Shreka went on an adventure and there she met a walnut and a pineapple. Shreka the Worm became friends with the pineapple. 

But the pineapple and the walnut were together and Shreka the Worm was afraid of walnuts.

Mr Grumpy the angry ice-cream

Bray Literary Festival on Saturday 28th September 2019

Mr Grumpy lives in a house that was made out of sweets, beside the ice cream seller’s house in Brittas Bay. 

He makes lots of donuts every day because he thinks if he does this he will become part of the donut community.

He makes the donuts in a factory in Newcastle where he works with his best friend Mr Banana the donut. 

Gertrude and the Battle of Plastics

Gertrude the turtle and Pelly the pufferfish were in the Marianas Trench. 

They were doing their daily litter check when they heard a big fart noise in the ocean. 

The whole ocean shook. It turned out that it was an underwater volcano that started shooting out plastic straws, other plastic rubbish and cans.

The Great Pigeon

In a land far, far away there lived a giraffe called Bob. 

Bob was half-human, half-giraffe. 

His next door neighbour was a nickel called MMMMMM.

The Adventures of Sprinkles the Dohnut

Once upon a time there was a dohnut called sprinkles. His biggest fear was to be eaten by a giant called Barry. 

One day sprinkles the dohnut was walking outside with his best friend choco the chocolate bar when barry came along.

When barry walked down the streets the roads cracked in half. 

Oranges Aren’t So Lucky

My name is Jeff the Orange and my life is very crazy.

Right now I’m drinking orange juice. Tomorrow I’m going to a fruit school where I shall meet Kasey the Kiwi.

I’m walking home with Mr. Abs the Crab. I really hope I don’t see Abdul the Camel because he’s really mean. 

Townie Troubles.

Donoughmore NS, 3rd,4th,5th and 6th class, County Wicklow, 24 September 2019

One day Jimmy was doing the silage, and his friend Bobby came over and started jumping in it. 

Jimmy jumps out of the tractor and says “Get back into the digger and stop jumping on the silage”.

Loads of Townies from Baltinglass came over and said “Let’s blow all our silage away with our leaf blowers”.

Plastic Disaster

There once was a scrunchie named Hammy. She was a beautiful, vibrant red.

Hammy lived on VSCO Island. 

She had a best friend called AndI-Oop, who was a green and blue hydro-flask with turtles on her.

It was a Friday evening when Christopher the Cheese first came to the big fridge, he was bought from the shop by the evil Mr. Loaf.

Mr. Loaf was very indecisive about what cheese to buy. 

Christopher the Cheese was quite distressed on the way home as he was being squished by Mairead the Milk and the sausages in the bag. 

Small Dog, Big Dreams

Once there was a little pug called Chico. He was cuddly, sporty, playful, and a tiny bit lazy. He was the size of a pin. 

His dream was to be rich and get a Lamborghini. He had a best friend whose name was Paddy and he was an Irish dog that did Irish dancing. 

But there was one things that always got in his way: KITTENS! 

Chico always talked to Paddy about his dream. “I wish I had a Lamborghini. 

Jimmy's Great Space Adventure

There once was a turtle and he had no friends. His name was Jimmy the Talking Turtle. 

One day he went to McDonalds and he got some chicken nuggets. 

He particularly picked out one chicken nugget from the box. That chicken nugget randomly started talking!

Flipper's Adventure

Once upon a time there was a penguin named Flipper. He lived in the South Pole. 

He really wanted to be able to swim properly. Flipper was a very lonely penguin. 

He wanted a friend more than anything. Then one day, he met Fin the Dolphin. 

Gary and the Missing Human

One day in the imaginary land there was a guy called Gary and his best friend was Pugba. 

Gary was a person who was very skinny and he was bald and he had the letter B on his head. 

He follows Liverpool  in the real world and Pugba follows Manchester United.  

The Legend of Jim the Cheetah

North Monastery School, 5th class, County Cork 12 March 2018 

Jim the cheetah was born in 1902. When he was 5 years old he was bullied in school and he met Daly the lion. 

At the school made of bamboo they learned how to be faster than other animals, they learned how to survive in the wild and they learned how to hunt. 

Jim wasn't very good at those things, so everyday Daly helped him get better.

The Holy Spaghett Bowl

Wan Chong Chang didn't know what to do. Jim the Talking Sandwich was staring at him. 

The Talking Toilet had warned Chang that Jim was dangerous.

Sparkles was a unicorn. He was in a lovely forest, called the Meatball Forest, with Diamond, the baby rabbit. 

Sparkles was watching Diamond's dreams. 

Sparkles couldn't do magic and he wanted to be a Dream Watcher.

One day in a little cloud, a unicorn appeared. Jake was standing on the cloud.

“We need to go to Candyland, Bimbo,” said Jake.

Just as Bimbo was about to answer, it started to rain and the cloud evaporated. They fell to the ground.

There was a robot called Jeff who lived in a raspberry bush in New York.

One day, Jeff was talking to his best friend, Raz the raspberry, about how her weekend went.

“We went to Ohio but I wish we had gone to play rugby with my friends instead,” said Raz.

Mr Squawk the Chicken Becomes King

Timmy was flying above the trees when he spotted someone who needs help. He flew down.

Its late at night, Philip the farting potatoe is walking in Crispy Grass Park, playing with is yoyo.  

When suddenly he spots a big scary old ancient house in the distance.  

He hasn’t noticed this house before, so he is curious and he walks towards it. 

Dog’s Life

Terrified of being eaten by a T-Rex, Pog the dog lives on a farm in the middle of no where with a few chickens, a sheep and a goat. 

Paulie the Puppy goes to Pog the dog looking very worried and says “I can’t find Popcorn the Poptart cat”. 

Football Phobia

Parke National School, Castlebar, Mayo, 5th and 6th Class, 22 November 2016

Jason the duck was in Duck Park training fields, once again trying to overcome his fear of footballs with his friend Percy Pegasus.

When Jason was four years old, he had fallen over a football and fractured his leg, which was very painful and left him bedridden for three months. 

It happened during the hottest summer ever recorded in Duckton Town.

Revenge Of The Killer Clowns

Voluptuous Jack and his best friend Trytineous Graham were in the middle of nowhere. 

Trytineous Graham said he needed to go to the toilet. 

On his way to the toilet, through the bushes, he heard a stick snap. 

When Stuff Goes A Bit Too Far

Franklyn the Funny Man was walking down the street heading for Sweetland Circus in San Francisco. 

He collected his car from the garage, got behind the wheel, started the engine.

All the people on the street ran for their lives.

Sparkles’ Adventures

Sparkles the unicorn woke up in her marshmallow house on a dark and cloudy morning.  

She ate her usual breakfast of rainbow drops and saw that it was raining bubbles outside.  

Sparkles felt frightened because she was very afraid of bubbles.

What Granny Did

Lucas the genius woke up early in his granny’s house.  He looked at a picture of his parents beside his bed. 

Both his parents had been killed three years previously, testing out their new prototype of their time machine.  

The newspaper headlines had said, Two People Killed In A Bizarre Car Crash On A Quiet Country Road.

Zack was having his breakfast with Finn the Ketchup Bottle. Finn decides to ask him his greatest wish.

“My greatest wish is to be a pink flying unicorn.” Then a talking pickle appears at the house. 

Zack points and says “that is my greatest fear”.

Bob and the Scary Dog

Once upon a time there lived a Cat called Bob who had Magical powers.

He was able to talk human and disappear at anytime.

One day he was asleep up an oak tree in Africa. His friend, Billy the Snakey Mouse was visiting him because it was Saturday. 

The Adventures of Mr. Majinky

Once there was a red knight called Mr. Majinky who had slain three dragons.

One fine day, an evil army of crabs tried to conquer Sicily, but Mr. Majinky wished to conquer Sicily himself, so he grabbed his best friend, John the Peasant, to help him overcome his fear of crabs and take over Sicily with him.w

A Dog’s Life

Cub, the Golden Retriever Puppy always wanted a home. 

Cub was about to walk into the house but he heard footsteps behind the door.

It was a bright and cloudy day.

Bobby McBoberson ran away as soon as he saw a cloud.

He saw a lizard running on the grass. He ran after the lizard. It looked injured.

Sam the Night Vision Dog

Once upon a time there was a dog called Sam. 

She was not an ordinary dog; she had a magical ability – night-vision! 

Sam was sitting on the wall of her house. Suddenly, she fell off when she saw her owner carrying a bag of chips.

Fury and the Little Troll

One day Blue Blue the blue troll was looking for his best friend Ginger the gingerbread man. 

Once he found Ginger they began to play around a little chocolate lake.

Suddenly they heard a scattering noise in the bushes, little did they know it was Blue Blue’s greatest fear – Fury the massive red and black dragon.
