An Fear a bhí ar Iarraidh

The Sheep’s Quest

St. Brigid’s GNS, Glasnevin, 6th class, 26th February 2021

This story starts with a sheep. A very lonely sheep. On Friday 19th September, he stumbled across a dancing sheep. 

“Let’s be friends,” said Jackaleen the Dancing Sheep. 

“Yes, of course!” he exclaimed, excitedly. 

The Pig of Paris

Shaniqua really wanted to go to Paris, so she got on her moped and went to Sam’s house. When she got to Sam’s house, she couldn’t find him anywhere.

She looked under the sink, in his bed and in the fridge! Then, she heard a noise coming from the bathroom.

She thought to herself “Sam can wait, let me just get some stuff from the fridge.”

Thosaigh Cóilín ag croitheadh nuair a chonaic sé Clochín.

Children Chaos

Once upon a time there was a family that lived on Mars. They were all bloodthirsty aliens. But they weren’t as bad as the children Nanny Poppy had to take care of. 

Nanny Poppy lived in the heart of Tokyo city and she was sick of the time it took to get from Tokyo to Mars.

It took seven years to get there. 

Charles’s Adventure

Charles the dog lived in an apartment in the city with his owner. But his greatest fear was just out the door. He was very afraid of getting lost in the city.

One day, he heard a claw scratching and meow at the door. It was his best friend, Midnight the black cat. 

“My greatest wish is to be a superhero,” said Charles.

Her Last Wish

One late evening, there was a big crash outside of the house. Kelly ran outside and saw that her parents were covered in blood.

Dead. She dropped to her knees in tears and pulled her phone out of her pocket and rang the ambulance. Just then her dog Bonny came running out and licked her face.

She obviously didn’t know what was going on.  A woman with a sweet voice answered and Kelly had nothing to say .

Running Rogue

Lucas shoved all of his clothes into a bag and got ready to run away. He packed a few supplies.

He was leaving tonight. He stealthily walked into his bedroom and carefully jumped out of the window.

He threw his bag out the window and his best friend, Orla, caught it. It was lashing rain, but he didn’t care - 

Happy and Ben the Brave Dogs!

Happy the cavachon dog got kicked out of his hometown! In the dark he was scared of all the talking trees. After that he sees his best friend Ben the blue dog. 

Then a massive talking tree jumps on top of Ben the blue dog and throws him back into dogtopia.

The talking tree grabs Happy and brings him to the hometown of Talking Trees.

Peanut Butter Madness

To run out of peanut butter is a fear for many but not as terrifying as it is for Pen Labradoodle.

He was the puppy of his best friend, Timmy the Toddler. He always wished to become a cat. 

Why, you ask? There was a new law in town where only cats can have peanut butter.

Murder Mystery

Mary Hollings was a murder detective. She was on a mission to find a bunch of murderers, but there was one specific murderer she was trying to get. With Charles the Black Boxer, will she find the murderer?

The murderer she was trying to find was Adolf Hitler’s great, great, great, great grandson - Tom Hitler.

Charles the dog and Tom made a great scheme together. They were planning to get Mary fired.

Bob and Minizilla’s Adventure

Once upon a time there was a troll called Bob the Troll who wanted to be the biggest superhero in the world.

His best friend was Minizilla, the miniature Godzilla.

He and Minizilla did everything together and it was very rare that you’d see them apart.

The Behemoth Bone Bank

Rock and Roll, Far From Home

William was an old posh man from Britain. In an old cabin, he was enjoying a cup of tea.

It was a cabin on one of his land because he owns a lot of land. William was in a bad mood.

The big pot of water was hanging idle over the fire. He used his last tea bag the night before and in the morning he had no tea.

Big the Dinosaur lived in New York City because he wanted to buy wigs.

He was bald and was trying to fit in. He was trapped in the zoo with his friend, Chomp the Crocodile.

Chomp the Crocodile had been trying to sell a wig to Big the Dinosaur by the pool. 

The Story of How Pubert became the Best Toaster in the World

Once upon a time there was a toaster named Pubert. He was happily playing with Bert the Slice of Bread in the park.

They lived in Kitchenville. Kitchenville was just a giant kitchen and all the toasters and utensils lived there. 

When they were playing in the park, they saw Bob the Bread Bin and Lightning Donkey was next to him.

My Happiest Day

I was walking home from school on the 7th of May. I remember that day well. I will never forget it.

As soon as I opened the door, I could smell it. My favourite dinner was cooking - pasta with melted cheese and bacon. I could smell the bacon. It was pulling me inside, entrancing me. I dumped my bag inside the door, hung my coat off the stair banister. I ran straight through the hall to the kitchen and saw Mum and Dad both there. This was strange because whenever Dad was home early, Mum would go out. They looked happy for the first time in a long time.

The Runaway

One Saturday, Cow Man and Fun the Polar Bear were running away from McDonald’s who wanted to turn Cow Man into a burger.

When they were running away from McDonald’s, Cow Man shouted, “AAAHHH!”

Then Cow Man saw one of the McDonald’s workers in a lamborghini and he wanted to steal it.

Experiment One

Once there was a frog named Merelda who lived on a farm with her best friend, Melvin the Goat.

Merelda had a great life as a frog, but she dreamed to be the first frog in Hollywood.

Once upon a time in a galaxy far far away, there lived two friends who wanted to find aliens. Their names were Cornelius the Space Pig and Jeff the Space Chicken. 

One Saturday morning, they were sitting in the sitting room in their space house and they watched an ad on their space TV and they saw two best friends going to space.

Since he had been a little piglet, Cornelius always loved the idea of aliens and space.

The Underground Society

It was Friday, the 24th September 1994. It was getting kind of cold and windy, but it didn’t bother Phil, because the wind went right through his bones. 

He was on top of a mountain, looking down at his town of Snowdin.

A snowstorm was roaming in, as the dark clouds surrounded the town. 

The Girl Who Didn’t Like How She Lived

Once there was a girl called Anna. She lived in Nenagh. Her mom was German and her dad was French and her sister was very good at Irish so Ana couldn’t understand them. She didn’t like the way she lived.

So every day, Anna played in her room. That’s only what she did and it was very boring. She loved her family but not how they spoke. She did writing as well as playing with her dolls and she read too.

But one day, the door opened and her mom came in and began to speak.

The Flying Dog

Once upon a time there was a dog with a horn. He spread happiness, joy and peace. It was a golden dog. Everybody loved the dog. Well, the dog was only a myth to them. Only some people believed in him and the people who believed in him got to see him. However, their friends and family said it was just their imagination. Their friends and family didn’t know that the dog was true.

Oh, he was very true.

“Come down Flame and eat seeds” said Paige. Paige clicked her fingers and the bird came down.”You do know I can talk” said Flame cheekily.

Bob's Greatest Dream

After dinner was finished, Bob made dessert, which was a cherry bomb.

The Robot Who no Longer wanted to be One

Zobert had been on this planet for way too long. He originally did not like his old planet, but strange things are happening and he did not know what.

He decided to go to the human world. He needs to find a new friend. But how is he going to do it? 

But in the middle of space, he got hit by a rock that was wrapped up in paper, that had a pyramid with a crystal on top of it, with a map that said ‘get the crystal and you will become a human.’

Jolly B was lonely, he had no friends. He was flying through the park for ages.

Finally, Jolly B looked at his watch and decided it was time for school. But he saw Jilly B getting bullied in Jolly School by Shmiley B and Waspy B. 

The Baby Takeover

Baby Lulu was a cheat he never liked anybody. Baby Lulu was the worst he kept on biting people's fingers. 

But, Baby Lulu did not act like that on the outside. But, there is one thing he wants the most and he has a friend to help him. 

Baby Lulu is from Asia. He was born in South Korea. Baby Lulu has a plan in his head. 

The Old Man from Cork

A panda comes down from a tree and helps him. 

The Unexpected Clown Chase

One day at the park, on a spooky, scary Saturday, Jack was out with his friend James the silly boy.

He was riding his scooter and fell on his head. James then called Jacks mom.

 After a while, his mom got cranky. She told him off and confiscated his scooter.

Uncle Eliza

 Mary couldn’t believe what she was hearing; her beloved Uncle John was gone. It was going to be a long voyage. Mary hugged her doll tightly.

‘Oh why is life so hard!’ said Mary thinking about her Uncle.

Her doll, Eliza, had extremely soft, black hair that almost seemed real, and although her frock had once been lovely and new it was now old. 

Aither’s Adventure

Aither Astroid was a white fox with blue horns and black wings that lived in a painting in the Crawford Art Gallery. He sneaks out at night sometimes to get food.

Every day when the children come they touch and stroke the painting and he doesn’t like it! 

Every time they touch the painting he disappears into another picture.

The Attack of the Bananas

In the dangers of the jungle lived the orang-utan named Darwin and his trusty side-kick Turner the Turtle. 

Turner the Turtle was not slow he was super fast. Every year the banana wrangler Peely, came into the jungle to hunt all the animals. 

But of all the times he had come, he had only managed to hunt five animals. This year he is coming, but he won’t get anyone because a new superhero has arrived in the jungle.

The Great Manchesco Divelo

Manchesco Divelo is a talking dog and his biggest dream is to work at a circus. 

His best friend’s name is Fat Betty and she is a cat. He lives in the city far from any circus. 

He has an owner that is always gone to work and doesn’t really care about him.

Food Fight

Once upon a time there was a giant pizza called Pepper Roni.

His best friend was Crisps, the alien, his head was made of crisps and his body was an alien’s.

They lived in a cave in a small village.  Pepper Roni’s biggest wish was for the world to be made of pizza.

The Buttery Toast Invasion

When the clock struck twelve, his best friend Squishy Watermelon Max got captured by the buttery toast.

When he got up, he found a load of cows in his kitchen rooting through his cupboards and they ate all the food so he had to go to the shop, but the shop closed down while he was in a coma.

Zero and Jimmy’s Journey

One day Nutty the Chestnut fell down from the Chestnut Tree. He fell into Mr Burton’s bag and was taken back to his house.

There he met Almond the Milky Bar who was in a bowl. He unwrapped Almond and they became friends.

Next day they jumped into Mr Burton’s bag and went to work with him at the chocolate factory.

The Extraordinary Adventures of Oliver the Olive

In an olive farm in France Oliver the Olive meets Gary the Grape. Ricardo the bodybuilder finds them in the kitchen and is about to eat them. 

Just as he’s about to pop them in his mouth Ricardo remembers he’s late for a flight to Galway. 

He drops Oliver the Olive and Gary the Grape and races off to catch his flight from France to Galway where he’s going to do some break-dancing.

Steve & Bob's Adventure

Chicken Nugget has no arms, so he can’t pull up the chair. He tries to do it, but he falls to the ground. 

He rolls out the door, and keeps on rolling for a full half hour.

Bloopy and the Beast

Mercedes the Ford wakes up in the junk yard. There are  cars being crushed around Mercedes.

“Oh no! I'd better go because there are cars being crushed around me,” he cries.

But Mercedes discovers that he has no fuel in the tank. He looks up and sees a man walking around the junkyard.

The Good, The Squishy and The Ugly

Spread had to be careful about heat, so they were sitting outside. 

This was the fanciest cafe in town. There was a TV in the cafe and on the TV, the news reporter was talking  about sightings of Blippys in the city.

Oscar the Oreo lives in the “Reduced To Clear” section in Pesco. His friend Patricia the Pie lives on the shelf opposite him. 

They meet up in a bar underneath the shelves. Obese Owen lives underneath the Oreo shelf.

Patricia and Oscar argue about who tastes better. Oskar says, “I’m nicer because I’m a cookie.”

Toilet Trip

Tom the toilet wakes up in the bathroom in his house. He lives in the Pesident’s house. It’s a  clean and shiny bathroom.

However, when Tom wakes up, he sees that his best friend Pam the plunger isn’t there! He gets up and starts walking around looking for her.

He shouts out Pam’s name in distress.  “Pam, where are you!?”

A Crazy Day

Fred the 4 year old, Oslo’s best friend, sneaks through a hole in the barn, carrying some of the dinner that he just had.

Oslo neighs at Fred. Oslo and Fred have a telepathic connection. They can talk to each other in their heads.

The Snowman and the Runaway Carrot

Puddle the melting snowman was made by a lonely boy in his back garden during Christmas.

The boy had snatched a carrot from the Christmas dinner table and gave it to Puddle for a nose.  

Puddle decided to call the carrot ‘Luke’ and they became fast friends. Luke saved Puddle from his loneliness.

Luke had been bought at the Christmas market, where he had been parted from his brother Steve.

The murderer she was trying to find was Adolf Hitler’s great, great, great, great grandson - Tom Hitler.

Charles the dog and Tom made a great scheme together. They were planning to get Mary fired.

“We need to get those presents back or the children will not have presents to rip open on Christmas morning,” Santa said. 

“I’m too small to get the presents, I could get stuck too,” said Justin the Elf.

Fernando, the hedgehog, falls off the hedge to spy on his owner’s family. He sneaks off to the window to look inside. 

Then, Ricardo’s sister catches him. Fernando was sad because he saw his owners through the window eating sausages. 

Sausages remind him of his friend who passed away last week.

Dhúisigh Cóilín, an madra beag suas i bhfásach an Sahára i lár na hoíche mar gur bhuail sé in aghaidh chachtais.  Ní raibh sé ach 4 céim Celsius ag an am.  Bhí Cóilín an-fhuar agus bhí sé ag croitheadh leis an bhfuacht.  Bhí ocras air chomh maith agus ag an nóiméad sin smaoinigh sé ar cé chomh súmhar agus chomh blasta a bheadh chnámh.  Nuair a bhuail sé in aghaidh an chachtais chuaigh cuid de na deilgní i bhfostú  ina chosa agus bhí sé sin pianmhar agus an-tinn.

My Happiest Day

I was walking home from school on the 7th of May. I remember that day well. I will never forget it.

As soon as I opened the door, I could smell it. My favourite dinner was cooking - pasta with melted cheese and bacon. I could smell the bacon. It was pulling me inside, entrancing me. I dumped my bag inside the door, hung my coat off the stair banister. I ran straight through the hall to the kitchen and saw Mum and Dad both there. This was strange because whenever Dad was home early, Mum would go out. They looked happy for the first time in a long time.

The Girl Who Didn’t Like How She Lived

Ruth, Age 6, Co. Tipperary

Once there was a girl called Anna. She lived in Nenagh. Her mom was German and her dad was French and her sister was very good at Irish so Ana couldn’t understand them. She didn’t like the way she lived.

So every day, Anna played in her room. That’s only what she did and it was very boring. She loved her family but not how they spoke. She did writing as well as playing with her dolls and she read too.

But one day, the door opened and her mom came in and began to speak.

The Flying Dog

Once upon a time there was a dog with a horn. He spread happiness, joy and peace. It was a golden dog. Everybody loved the dog. Well, the dog was only a myth to them. Only some people believed in him and the people who believed in him got to see him. However, their friends and family said it was just their imagination. Their friends and family didn’t know that the dog was true.

Oh, he was very true.

The Minotaur

The minotaur statue stood in a shed. Suddenly, it came to life. There had a been a leak in the shed roof and as the rain came in, the plaster, which had encased a real minotaur, washed off. He felt clueless and confused.

Why have I been brought into this world? he thought.

Chief and The Ostrich

once upon a time there was a dog called Chief. Chief was a lonely dog he had no friends. 

So one day he decided to go out on his scooter and find some dog friends.

Why We Should Stop Using Diesel Cars!

Hello, my name is Ryan and I think it is outrageous that diesel cars were ever made. They produce emissions, they use fossil fuels and they negatively affect the environment.

Firstly, diesel emissions contribute to the development of cancer, cardiovascular and respiratory health effects, the pollution of air, water and soil, reductions in visibility and global climate change. 

Kora’s Story

Sophia was picking flowers in a beautiful farm and singing to the animals on the farm. Her best friend was called Denny the sausage dog. She had a secret admirer who watched her from a distance as she sang to the animals. His name was Conor.

One day Conor was very brave and visited the farm to talk to the girl he had watched for so long. After a week or so of Conor visiting Sophia, they became very close. However, the evil Maritha was watching their love grow and became very jealous of the beautiful Sophia and her new friend.

Stan The Flying Man

One day Stan was driving and he found a bird on the road whose wings were not working so Stan brought it back to his house.

He used an old box to make a home for the injured bird and put some bread and water in it.

After a few days, the bird got better and could now fly. The bird flew onto Stan’s head and flew away.

Corona zombies

One day, Jason was sitting at his desk at school when the teacher made an announcement that would change his life.

“Class, I think you’ll want to hear this.” He was tuned in on the radio to a broadcast by Leo Varadkar.

“Today we will be shutting schools down for a period of time that could extend to beyond the school year due to Covid-19,” announced Leo, “We will advise people on staying at home and washing their hands frequently.”

Bob an Liathróid

My Two Worlds

I was lucky that I lived by the sea. It meant I could be a schoolgirl by day and a mermaid at night.

Nobody would believe me if I told them about my life under the water with the jellyfish, Dorky the seahorse, Jim the Shark, Rory the Crab. My whole gang were down there, my underwater family.

A Quark called Jake

They were going on a trip to their favourite place in the whole world, the Large Hadron Collider. They were entering a competition to be smashed there. They were all so excited but,none more so than Jake. He was so excited that he could be famous just like his hero Stephen Quirking.

So, when they arrived, Jake, Jamie and Luke unpacked their stuff at the hotel and went off.

Homemade Teacher

For the past few days, no schoolwork has come through for my siblings. So my mum had this “genius” idea that I could actually “teach” my them.

At first I thought it was a good idea because I didn’t have anything better to do (except schoolwork) and my mum said she would pay me, so I was all set. But when it came to actually “teach” them, things turned out not the way I wanted it to.

The Tale of The Mysterious Girl

The Easter Bunny drew a map of where all the Easter eggs were hidden.

Facing Your Fears
