The Big Mission

Plainfield Memorial School, 5th Grade, 20 December 2018

The wind was howling. The sky was dark. Roscoe the dog was in a gloomy alley, barking at a poster of a dinosaur.

A wild dinosaur ran down the alley and scared Roscoe. “Roar! Boogly, boogly!” screamed the dinosaur. 

The Dinosaur, Frank, was trying to figure out why Roscoe was barking. Roscoe was terrified and ran away yipping.

No More Cheesecake!

One day Fail Man opened up his diary and wrote “Dear diary, I want a flying pig.” 

Fail Man and Smart Guy, Fail Man’s best friend, came across Wizard the Pig. 

Then they met Santa Claus. 

The King of Chocolates

It was a snowy day in Chocolateland and it was raining sugar. 

Chocolate the Chocolate was riding on Bill the unicorn’s head. 

Chocolate the Chocolate said to Bill the Unicorn, “We must go inside it’s snowing!”

Ronald Ruins Me Flop!!

Once upon a time, there was a flipflop named Jimmy that went to a Gucci shop, but there were no Gucci flipflops left.

Jimmy raged at the shopkeeper, “You should have more flipflops in stock!”

The shopkeeper picked Jimmy up and threw him out of the shop.

Mission: Impiggable

One stormy night in Nigeria, all you could hear was a mysterious spy theme.

All of the sudden, Bagún the Spy Pig appeared from Betty’s caravan.

He’d had a notification from his boss saying he had to infiltrate the Russian embassy. 

Lily and Her New Best Friend

Once there was a blue hamster named Lily. Her best friend was Orange the Orange Hamster and her worst fear was green hamsters.

Lily was scared of the green hamsters because they made her sick. But she loved eating cookies.

One day, a new boy came in and he was a green hamster.

Once upon a time there was a whale named Donkey. No, not a donkey named Whale - a whale named Donkey.

Donkey’s best friend was Felicia the whale. Whenever they left each other, Donkey said, “Bye, Felicia!”

One day Donkey was migrating through the coral reef and he thought to himself, “Why is all this coral going white?”

Lucy and the Big Bad Pig

Lucy met the big fat pig called Jeffy. She ran away and she fell in some water. 

She was scared, but then Frank the ninja came and saved her.

The pig caught up with them and chased Lucy and Frank.

Hobo Max and Bob

Once there was a man who lived in an alleyway called Hobo Max. His best friend was a dog called Bob.

During the day, Max liked to eat his cardboard box. 

The reason he did this is because he spent all of his money on cigarettes.

Dinnerbone’s Great Adventure

Once upon a time there was a wolf and a sausage. 

The wolf was called Dinnerbone, and his worst fear was humans. There was also a sausage, who always got lost.

The sausage and wolf were best friends. The sausage’s name was Cow the Sausage.

He had just moved from Ardfert to Portumna. 

He missed his friends in Ardfert and felt quite lonely.

Once upon a time there was a knight whose head was a light bulb. His name was Light-Slasher.

He tried to rob a bank before but Dragon Ninja showed up to stop him. 

Light-Slasher failed, but was able to escape. Now, Light-Slasher was in his secret lair.

The baby’s name was Jimmy and one day she lost him. 

As he was running he tripped and fell into a giant sausage sambo. 

Swingo and the Cheesy Popcorn

Swingo the dingo was looking for food in the outback of Australia. 

He was searching for cheesy popcorn for his friend John the cow.

Swingo knew he would have to fight a kangaroo to get the popcorn. He had a stick strapped to his back.

Granny Teta’s Great Adventures

Granny Teta was sitting in her old springy armchair thinking about the time Granny Murray broke the speed limit and flew off a cliff.

She imagined the time when they drove over the cliff and she remembered her best friend’s rainbow hair.

She was listening to diddley-aye music on her portable cd player.

The Snowman and the Runaway Carrot

Puddle the melting snowman was made by a lonely boy in his back garden during Christmas.

The boy had snatched a carrot from the Christmas dinner table and gave it to Puddle for a nose.  

Puddle decided to call the carrot ‘Luke’ and they became fast friends. Luke saved Puddle from his loneliness.

Luke had been bought at the Christmas market, where he had been parted from his brother Steve. 

Cuboid And His Amazing Adventures

This is the story of a killer clown called Jamie who wants a robot dog.

Jamie goes to Robot Land in search of his dog. Nearby, a robot dog, Cuboid, is trying to play catch with his best friend Katie the sleepy cat. 

Katie is too sleepy to play with him. The King of Robot Land is out for a walk and Cuboid accidentally trips him over.

Deathwing’s Not-So-Epic Battle Against A Shoelace

Fighting Words at Dublin Art Book Fair, 24 November 2018

Deathwing the dragon was in the middle of a dragon battle. He was losing but he still had a chance to win as he was the biggest dragon.
Just then, Deathwing flew to the nearest pothole and barfed. Someone had stuffed a shoelace down his throat.

“Mooo..”
Deathwing was now awake. Emma his best friend the overweight cow had woken him up.

 

The Big Cat League

Chocolate the Cat was not like any other cat.  He was an extremely large cat.

Chocolate was phenomenal at soccer, but he didn’t believe in himself.

Smokey the Thin Cat, who was Chocolate’s best friend, had true faith in his abilities.

Jeff and the Dinosaur Danger

Once upon a time there was a man called Jeff who was rich. Jeff was very friendly, but sassy sometimes.

He started to go call for his friend Fire, who was a phoenix. He told him about his greatest wish:

“I want to be a turtle with super powers!” Jeff said.

Brookie Cookie’s Escape

St Patrick’s Junior School, Blanchardstown​, 2nd Class, 22nd November 2018

Colm the Pizza was being made in the factory when he found a friend called Brookie Cookie.

“Hi, my name is Brookie Cookie. I’m nine years old,” said Brookie Cookie. “Let’s escape from the factory!”

Brookie had been trapped in the factory for nine years. Colm the Pizza didn’t answer back.

Mr. Mush and His Friends

Once upon a time, there was Mr Mush, who loved  moustaches.

One day, he saw Mr Chicken Pop-Pop on the road.  Mr Chicken Pop-Pop was about to get run over by a car. 

Mr Mush took out his moustache sword and sliced the car in half!

The Life of Tommy and Bryan

Bang…an explosion woke Tommy up. “Ah leave me alone” he shouted. 

He thought they had come to get him but then realised his cell was destroyed. 

He looked at the cracked walls of his grey room and then Bryan, his dumb friend, walked in with a bunch of dynamite, and shouted;

Keep swimming Nana Regine!

There once was a boy called Steve. His greatest wish was that Nana Regine would come back from Australia.

He was worried that she would drown., because she didn't want to pay for an airline ticket and she was swimming.

Steve loved playing with Da Ginga Ninja. 

The Explorer Johnny Bean

Once there was a great explorer named Johnny Bean who lived in a strange and wonderful planet called the Kingdom of Bananas.

Johnny loved exploring, especially to other planets. 

During one of his many trips, he became great friends with Millie the Alien who lived on Mars.

The Adventures of the Super Hamster

Once upon a terrible time, Sprinkles the Hamster was in a very dull world called Dull World because nothing was made of sweets. 

Sprinkles wanted to make everything out of sweets. 

Sprinkles the Hamster had heard that there was a Sweetland, but it was too far and she wished that she could go there.
