Jeff, Joely and The Devil

Once upon a DJ, Jeff the DJ is born. When Jeff was 2 he wanted to be a DJ. His first fear of devils started when he was 1. 

He went to DJ school and he met his best friend there called Joely.

Jeff asked Joely ‘whats his name and what does he like to do. Joely said he wanted to be a football player

Timmy the Tea Towel and the Lost Dish

Timmy the Tea Towel and Danny the Dishwasher were at the park. Somebody had stolen one of Danny’s plates.

Suddenly they saw a litter of  pigeons. 

They were just about to leave -  because Timmy the Tea Towel was afraid of pigeons - when they saw one of Danny the Dishwasher’s plates in the mouth of one of the pigeons.

Dear diary,

I’m going to Ireland to see my best friend. My bags are packed and I’m ready to go. 

There is one problem though, I am scared of heights and I have to go on an aeroplane. 

DJ the Alien and The Peacock

DJ the alien bought a house in Hollywood.  His friend, Misty, the scary teacher missed him so she moved in with him.

DJ bought a Zantoro car.  However, DJ didn’t like his house because there was a haunted house in front of his house.

DJ, being a wealthy alien, decided to move to the moon where he found what he had always wanted, a peacock called Jimmy. 

Lost at Sea

Be ready to go on an adventure with James the Sea Manatee and Pluto the Puffer fish...

James always had one wish and that was to be able to talk. He was in the water swimming with Pluto the Puffer Fish.

It was nighttime. There was a storm brewing and the waves were getting tough and strong.

Mr. Pickles Pickle Problem

One day Mr Pickle Man went to the shop to buy some pickles - but the stock was empty!

Mr Pickle Man told the shopkeeper to get him more. He shouted, “Give me that pickle, you pickle taker!”

Mr Pickle Man went home and screamed at the wall. He looked to see if there were more pickles in his fridge. There were no pickles left, so he cried.

The Dirty Rivalry

Killaloe Boys National School, Co. Clare, 6th Class, 15 October 2019

It was 1974 in the Staples Centre. Muck the Pig was getting ready for his big fight with Jonathan Henessey.

He was in the back room getting his hooves taped up by his manager, Maurice Carthy.

The wall collapsed as Muck saw Jonathan’s fierce hand come through the wall.

Svonsatron’s Great Escape

St Fergal’s NS, 5th class, County Wicklow, 15th October 2019

One day Svonsatron the alien crash landed on Earth. He landed in Area51 where people caught and trapped him. He was afraid they were going to kill him.

He said: “Gaba-laba-loo-loo?” This meant “where am I?” in Guferas language.

All the scientists were really shocked and wanted to investigate this alien. They put him in to a crate where Junior the dog was asleep.

Riley’s Great Adventure

Once upon a time there was a mermaid called Riley. Her best friend was Elphie the Dolphin.

Riley wanted to be Queen of the Ocean one day, but her dad wouldn’t let her go anywhere.

One day, Riley snuck out with Elphie the dolphin to go to a pirate ship. They swam to get to the pirate ship and they saw snakes.

The Guilty Dog

My name is Kristy the cat. My best friend Peanut the bug and I had a play date. 

My best friend fainted while having a pillow fight so I went to the hospital with him.

After he went to the hospital, we went for a long, long walk. 

World War McDonald’s

Once upon a time there was a chicken nugget called Jim who worked in McDonald’s.

Jim was the best cook in McDonald’s. Every day he handed out My Little Pony toys in a Happy Meal. 

Jim only put chicken nuggets and not chips in the Happy Meals because he’s afraid of chips.

The Nugget Fry

Once upon a time in a fearful McDonald’s, there was a chicken nugget and a French fry – Mr Chicken Nugget and Mr French Fry. 

They were both trying not to be eaten. Mr Chicken Nugget and Mr French Fry were even friends and they were the biggest heroes.

In the McDonald’s there was a bully called BBQ Sauce.

Animal Wars

You’re probably wondering how I got into this situation, but that begins all the way back here.

It will all come together when I tell you the story of how I lost in rock, paper, scissors with a chicken.

The Candy World

Once upon a time there was a castle -  but not just an ordinary castle. This was a candy castle.

There was a girl who was a princess and her name was Rose.

Rose lived in her mother’s candy castle. Her mam bought her evil twin sister, Roxy, her own candy castle.

The Rocking Wars

One horrendous day Rocky the Rock Monster went to school. 

He met Lexie at the door. “Would you like to come over to my beautiful cave later?” he asked anxiously.

“Of course I’d like to, I’d love to” she exclaimed.

Llamy the Alpaca and the Lotto Ticket

St Oliver Plunkett NS, Malahide, 1st – 3rd Class, 3rd October 2019

Llamy the Alpaca was a boxer who was very poor. He needed glasses but he couldn’t afford them.

Llamy had to become the most famous boxer in the world, so he really needed glasses.

He had to fight a flying pig, which was really hard for Llamy because it was his best friend, George.

A New Friend

Once upon a time there was a dragon called Jaws. Jaws the dragon really wanted a friend.

Jaws found another dragon in the cave nearby and he wanted to be friends.

“Can we be friends?” asked Jaws.

 

Shreka the Worm’s Magical Peanut

Once upon a time there was a worm called Shreka the Worm.

Shreka went on an adventure and there she met a walnut and a pineapple. Shreka the Worm became friends with the pineapple. 

But the pineapple and the walnut were together and Shreka the Worm was afraid of walnuts.

Mr Grumpy the angry ice-cream

Bray Literary Festival on Saturday 28th September 2019

Mr Grumpy lives in a house that was made out of sweets, beside the ice cream seller’s house in Brittas Bay. 

He makes lots of donuts every day because he thinks if he does this he will become part of the donut community.

He makes the donuts in a factory in Newcastle where he works with his best friend Mr Banana the donut. 

Gertrude and the Battle of Plastics

Gertrude the turtle and Pelly the pufferfish were in the Marianas Trench. 

They were doing their daily litter check when they heard a big fart noise in the ocean. 

The whole ocean shook. It turned out that it was an underwater volcano that started shooting out plastic straws, other plastic rubbish and cans.

The Great Pigeon

In a land far, far away there lived a giraffe called Bob. 

Bob was half-human, half-giraffe. 

His next door neighbour was a nickel called MMMMMM.

The Adventures of Sprinkles the Dohnut

Once upon a time there was a dohnut called sprinkles. His biggest fear was to be eaten by a giant called Barry. 

One day sprinkles the dohnut was walking outside with his best friend choco the chocolate bar when barry came along.

When barry walked down the streets the roads cracked in half. 

Oranges Aren’t So Lucky

My name is Jeff the Orange and my life is very crazy.

Right now I’m drinking orange juice. Tomorrow I’m going to a fruit school where I shall meet Kasey the Kiwi.

I’m walking home with Mr. Abs the Crab. I really hope I don’t see Abdul the Camel because he’s really mean. 

Townie Troubles.

Donoughmore NS, 3rd,4th,5th and 6th class, County Wicklow, 24 September 2019

One day Jimmy was doing the silage, and his friend Bobby came over and started jumping in it. 

Jimmy jumps out of the tractor and says “Get back into the digger and stop jumping on the silage”.

Loads of Townies from Baltinglass came over and said “Let’s blow all our silage away with our leaf blowers”.

Plastic Disaster

There once was a scrunchie named Hammy. She was a beautiful, vibrant red.

Hammy lived on VSCO Island. 

She had a best friend called AndI-Oop, who was a green and blue hydro-flask with turtles on her.

The Girlfriend Stealer

My name is Sacky the Blob. I am very slimy and sticky. I want a chocolate-filled doughnut.

Yesterday I went on Sinder to find a girlfriend.  

Lost in the Shell

Once upon a time there was a turtle named Michael. He lived on a deserted island for half his life.

One day, a wave came and took Michael away. The wave hit the side of a cargo ship.

Michael the turtle fell into a box on the ship, which was heading for New York port.

Goth Girl and Scales the Cat

Once upon a time there was a girl called Goth girl who lived in the woods. Her house was all black and she didn’t have any electricity or internet.

One day she went out into the woods and found a fairy who didn’t like goodness either.

“Please can I have a black gem?” asked Goth girl.

Unknown Twins

There was a man called Mr Grumpy Head.

Mr Grumpy Head was walking in the park. He was the meanest man in the world. He was thinking about how he could rule the world.

Every time Mr Grumpy Head passed someone, he would push them or call them bad names.

His best friend - Mr Not Grumpy - told him, “Don’t do that. That’s too rude.”
