First Fortnight 2020 at Fighting Words

As part of First Fortnight, the annual festival that raises awareness about mental health, challenges prejudice and works to end stigma, Fighting Words is hosting a workshop for young writers aged 14 to 17 years on Saturday, January 18th!

Character Connections

Where: Fighting Words, Behan Square, 12-16 Russell Street, Dublin 1
When: Saturday, 18 January 2020
Time: 11am to 1.00pm
Age Range: 14 to 17 years
Cost: FREE

We are all individuals with our own unique talents, quirks and insights. We all live in a community together. At this workshop for teens aged 14 to 17 years, participants are invited to invent their own individual characters and then work in small groups to bring those characters together in a story. Will the characters like each other? Fall in love? Will they be involved in a conflict or work toward a common goal? The possibilities are limitless. We will supply all materials - all the participants need to bring is their ideas.

To apply for a place, click here by Friday, January 10th!

Important Points to Remember:

  • Places will be allocated by lottery to ensure fairness

  • Due to the high demand for places, we ask that children only within the age range apply.

  • This workshop is FREE but places are limited and booking is required.

  • Parents/guardians will be advised if your child has a place no later than 4.00pm on Tuesday, January 14th.
