Wexford County Council Public Library Service through the Reader in Residence programme are delighted to announce that they will be bringing the hugely successful Fighting Words creative writing project to Wexford Library in January 2019.
Fighting Words Wexford will be offering FREE creative writing workshops for primary school children living in County Wexford.
Schools are invited to join this wonderful initiative which is new to Wexford Library. Participants will work collaboratively with trained volunteers on a Friday morning. They will all get the opportunity to become published writers and will create their own illustrated storybooks in the wonderful setting of Wexford Library.
Fighting Words was established in Dublin by Roddy Doyle and Séan Love and aims to help children and young people to discover and harness the power of their own imaginations and creative writing skills.
Caroline Busher, Reader in Residence says “I am delighted that we are bringing this wonderful initiative to Wexford Public Library Services. Our libraries in County Wexford are a wonderful resource and I firmly believe that this collaboration between Fighting Words and Wexford Public Library Service will have a positive impact on the lives of young people living in County Wexford and beyond.”
