Fighting Words Supplement 2022: Young Irish and International Writing Published in The Irish Times!
The 2022 edition of Fighting Words - Young Irish & International Writing in The Irish Times - Available Now!
The 2022 supplement - now in its 12th year - features over thirty pages of stories and poems by young authors from all over the island of Ireland and beyond, in English and in Irish, with an introduction by Paul Howard.
"The Fighting Words project sets out to help young people tell their stories from their own unique perspectives and express themselves in a way that feels real to them. What's contained [in the supplement] is just a small sample of the extraordinary work they've produced."
This year's supplement includes individual pieces submitted by young people as well as work produced at our school workshops and as part of larger projects, including Story Seeds and The 100 Years Project.
Congratulations to all the young writers included this year!
"We share a commitment to play and inquiry, to curiosity and adventure, to making mistakes, asking questions and to voice in all its forms" - Professor Anne Looney of the Insitute of Education at DCU.
Her essay "Voices Without Borders, Creativity Without Constraints" is in the 2022 supplement.
