Fighting Words Centenaries 2022: Young Writers Showcase at the Peacock

Six New Plays Exploring the Theme of Centenaries - Live on the Peacock Stage!

In collaboration with @abbeytheatredublin six of our young authors will each have a play of theirs performed live at the Peacock on Friday, June 24th.

The theme of this showcase is centenaries and each playwright blends elements of both the past and the present into their stories. Whether that be through the lens of comedy or tragedy, all the young writers have found unique way to explore the everyday trials and tribulations of human life, whether that be today, or all the way back in 1922.

Congratulations to young authors Lilian Chan, Jack Fanciulli, Aindreas Fallon Verbruggen, Danny Liken, Rachel Thornton and Lily McCullough for their year and a half of hard work under the supervision of Fighting Words co-founder Roddy Doyle and other Fighting Words mentors.

We are all very excited to see the culmination of all their work be performed on a live stage!

Fighting Words is grateful for the support of the Decade of Centenaries Project at the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media.
