Centenaries 2022 Showcase Featured in The Irish Times
Fighting Words Writers Featured in The Irish Times After Spectacular Showcase!
Following the Fighting Words Centenaries 2022 showcase, in which six of our own young playwrights had their plays performed live at the Peacock Theatre, The Irish Times published a feature on the performance now available to view on their website.
Interviewed in the article are Fighting Words co-founder Roddy Doyle and young playwright Rachel Thornton. Thornton speaks with Donald Clarke of The Irish Times about what seeing her work performed live on stage means to her: "Looking out into the audience, being watched and looking back at the watcher, those moments can't really be found on the stage."
Congratulations to all the playwrights - Lilian Chan, Jack Fanciulli, Aindreas Fallon Verbruggen, Danny Liken, Rachel Thornton, Lily McCullough, our partners at the Abbey Theatre and the support of the Decade of Centenaries-History Ireland programme at the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media.
Thanks as well to all the directors, performers and writing mentors involved for all their hard work in bringing this project to life!
