Sheila O'Flanagan had a successful career in the financial services industry, including time at the Central Bank of Ireland and a number of international banks, before becoming a full time author. In a voluntary capacity, she was also the financial director of Badminton Ireland and led the strategic planning team which completed the transition from a sports union to a limited company. She was invited onto the board of Sport Ireland where she served as a director for 5 years and she remains a member of the Sport Ireland research committee. Sheila has written 22 novels and 3 short story collections for adults as well as 2 books for children. She has also contributed novellas to the Quick Reads and Open Door series. She advocates for women in business as well as being passionate about children's opportunities for creative writing.
