Fighting Words Locations
In addition to our Dublin centre, Fighting Words delivers workshops at a variety of locations around the country, including our sister centre in Northern Ireland, Fighting Words Belfast.
All Fighting Words workshops are delivered by teams of volunteer writing tutors, who are trained and vetted. Workshops are offered at both primary and secondary school students, depending on location, and are free of charge.
Fighting Words Belfast
Fighting Words Belfast runs free creative writing workshops for children and young people aged 6 to 18.
Workshops take place primarily in Skainos, east Belfast, as well as the Duncairn Centre for Culture and Arts in north Belfast.
School and youth groups set out on a story-writing journey with trained volunteer mentors, working at first collaboratively and then individually to create new stories.
Fighting Words Glencree
Up in the Wicklow Mountains, stories are written by primary and secondary school students at Fighting Words Glencree, opened in September 2016.
Primary and secondary school workshops run Tuesday through Thursday.

Fighting Words Mayo
Since September 2015, Fighting Words has run workshops for primary and secondary school groups on a monthly basis at the National Museum of Ireland, Country Life, just outside Castlebar.
Additional workshops at weekends and school holidays take place at other locations around the county, e.g. the Jackie Clarke Collection in Ballina, from time to time.
Fighting Words Cork
Beginning in January 2017, Fighting Words will commence workshops at Graffiti Theatre Company in Cork city.
Every Friday, primary school groups create a brand new story with the volunteer tutor team.
