Would You Like To Help Children and Young People Create New Stories? Volunteer at Fighting Words!

What does Fighting Words do?
Opened in January 2009, the centre offers free story-writing workshops for primary school students in the mornings, creative writing tutoring for secondary students in the afternoons, and occasional workshops for various ages in the evenings and at weekends. We also run free week-long summer camps in July and August.

The workshops at Fighting Words run by teams of volunteer writing tutors in a relaxed, creative environment.

Hopscotch

Hopscotch was officially launched on Sunday 20th December at the Olivier Cornet Gallery, Great Denmark Street. Hopscotch presents the work of several artists and is based around the theme of childhood memories and children's games.

Fighting Words at VUE 2015

Congratulations to the teenage writers on their collaboration with the artists from the Olivier Cornet Gallery. The writers were inspired by various works of contemporary art at a recent workshop in Fighting Words, facilitated by Olivier Cornet. Their writing and the artworks are currently being exhibited at the VUE Art Fair, at the Royal Hibernian Academy, Ely Place, until Sunday 8th November.

We were thrilled to have Saul Williams an American rapper, singer, songwriter, musician, poet, writer, and actor.

He joined aspiring young poets and writers for a masterclass at Dublin's Fighting Words. He is in Dublin for the Lingo Festival
